"What works for your child is what makes the choice right!"
Marjorie is also the Executive Director of Hands & Voices New Mexico Chapter (HVNM). She is the mother to a teenaged hard of hearing (HH) daughter as well as becoming a late deafened HH adult. Her daughter was born before newborn testing, which resulted in her daughter’s hearing loss going long undetected. This challenging situation sparked her interest in serving with HVNM and participating on the Early Hearing Detection and Intervention (EHDI) Advisory Council, Special Quest, and Deaf Education Task Force Committees. Her daughter is now eighteen and a freshman in college. Both are educating friends, family and educators on the specific needs of the D/HH. She has a B.S. in Civil Engineering from M.I.T. in Cambridge, MA and an M.B.A. in Accounting and Finance from the Wharton School of Business in Philadelphia, PA. In close to twenty years of work experience, she has been an Air Force officer, has worked on Wall Street and in the high-Tech industry, and has also served as a Board Member of the Art Center at Fuller Lodge since moving to New Mexico in 2001.
