"What works for your child is what makes the choice right!"
YOU are invited to join Hands & Voices New Mexico (HVNM) celebrate a Happy New Y-Ear at the Flying Star in Corrales on Saturday, January 3rd, anytime between 8:00 and 11:00 AM for a Meet, Mingle and Munch Brunch!
In the interest of supporting one of the basic tenets of New Mexico's Deaf and Hard of Hearing (D/HH) Children's Educational Bill of Rights, the Board of HVNM wants to support Parent-to-Parent, Peer-to-Peer, and D/HH Adult Role Models for NM D/HH children's population. In a geographically dispersed state such as NM, unless D/HH children attend the NMSD, PEI, or ASLA, it is difficult to provide that environment. Hosting quarterly-ish events, where families with and professionals who serve D/HH children can get together, is one of the roles HVNM and it's Guide By Your Side program fulfills.
Some questions have been raised about who is welcome at these events and who are we trying to serve: HVNM events are meant for ALL communication modes, for ALL ages 0 - 18, and for ALL educational choices. Deaf and hard of hearing adult role model and professional who work with D/HH children are welcome.
